Welcome to SLZ pantry! We are a client-choice food pantry offering choice based shopping experiences for our clients. To cut down on crowding, wait times, and availability uncertainties, we’ve moved to an appointment based model. We offer a variety of shelf-stable foods, fresh seasonal produce, and depending on availability additional items such as milk, breads, meat, eggs, baking items, and snacks. Our pantry is stocked from donations from our wonderful community members, community partners, and food recovery partners.

Food Pick Up is by appointment only
Please call or text us to make an appointment (341) 314-6770 between 9 AM and 3 PM Monday, Friday, Saturday.
You must live in our service community which includes: the unincorporated areas of San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, Hayward Acres, Castro Valley, Fairview, Hayward or south San Leandro zip codes (94578 or 94579).
You must have and bring a government ID (from in the United States or outside the U.S.) AND a document that shows your current address. We accept documents like (paper or electronic):
- utility bills
- medical letters or bills
- bank statements
- automobile registration

Volunteers Needed
As San Lorenzo Family Help Center expands its food recovery efforts and prepares to launch our new Mobile Pantry this fall, we are seeking volunteers who want to help increase access to fresh, healthy food throughout the Eden area. Whether you enjoy working behind the scenes, assisting shoppers, driving, or engaging with the community, there are opportunities to make a meaningful impact.

Help rescue fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers markets and ensure they reach families in our community.

As our Mobile Pantry begins serving neighborhoods throughout the Eden area, additional volunteer opportunities will become available to assist with Mobile pantry operations.

While the truck purchase has been fully funded, the long-term success of the Mobile Pantry depends on ongoing operational support. Funding is still needed for staffing, fuel, vehicle maintenance, insurance, program supplies, and outreach efforts that will allow us to serve families consistently and sustainably.
